North Dakota Police Departments Get Funding

Senator John Hoeven, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced that the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has awarded funding from the Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) Hiring Program to four law enforcement departments in North Dakota. Today’s funding will be used by each department to support the hiring of additional law enforcement officers. Details are as follows:

·       Lincoln Police Department – $250,000

·       Mandan Police Department – $250,000

·       Renville County Sheriff’s Office – $205,446

·       Stark County Sheriff’s Department – $125,000

“Today’s funding will provide the needed resources to equip our communities with additional law enforcement support in order to maintain safe communities,” said Hoeven.
