Soccer adds Kayla Wisniewski

Jackrabbit soccer announced Friday the addition of transfer Kayla Wisniewski to its 2020 squad. Wisniewski, who played the past two seasons at Purdue Fort Wayne, will have two years of eligibility at South Dakota State.

“We’re ecstatic that Kayla is a Jackrabbit,” head coach Brock Thompson said. “Having played against her in the past, we know the problems she can cause for opposing teams and we look forward to using her strengths to make our team more dynamic.”

Wisniewski scored 10 goals and tallied four assists over two years with the Mastodons, earning a spot on the Summit League’s 2018 All-Freshman Team. The Mastodon leader in points, goals and assists both years, the Wauconda, Illinois product started all 40 games of her career at Purdue Fort Wayne.

She was a four-time all-conference and three-time all-section pick in her prep career at Wauconda High School. Wisniewski scored 78 goals and added 38 assists over 73 games with the Bulldogs, earning all-state recognition as a senior (2018). She played club soccer with SBW Alliance, helping her squad to the President’s Cup and Chicago Cup championships.
