South Dakota State’s men’s and women’s track and field teams were recognized as All-Academic teams and six Jackrabbits earned All-Academic individual honors as announced Thursday by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
For the team to qualify for the honor, they needed to exceed a cumulative grade point of average of 3.00. The men’s team earned a 3.353 GPA and the women’s team posted a 3.582 GPA.
Individual honors were earned by ranking in the top 96 in a particular event during the indoor track and field season and having a minimum of 3.25 GPA.
Those earning honors were:
Sam Coil- weight throw (Business Economics)
Noah Huber– shot put and weight throw (Public Relations)
Tyson Jenkins– shot put (Counseling)
Sam Zenner*-200 meters (Operations Managment)
Addison Eisenbeisz– high jump (Architecture)
Oksana Covey*-800 meters (Early Childhood Education)
