Sioux Falls Weapons Violation Arrest

At 3:08 pm on Monday August 10th, Sioux Falls police officers responded to a report of a disorderly person with a possible weapon near East 8th Street and North French Avenue.  Officers arrived and were able to safely detain and arrest one suspect after he assaulted two responding Officers by attempting to grab an Officers firearm and kicking another Officer.  A second suspect fled the scene in a vehicle after pointing a firearm at a nearby person.  He was later located near East 3rd St. and North Indiana Avenue and taken into custody without incident. A stolen firearm was recovered during the investigation.  No Officers were injured. 

47 year old Zachariah Almond was charged with Aggravated Assault and 26 year old Nathan Butler was charged with Aggravated Assault on Law Enforcement, Simple Assault on Law Enforcement, Obstructing an Officer and Resisting Arrest.  Both are Sioux Falls residents.
