Four Fargo firefighters have joined with a North Dakota task force responding to assist with response in Oregon due to the overwhelming wildfires. The four left Fargo this morning on a reserve fire engine with a destination in Oregon to be determined. The task force is expected to arrive at their destination in Oregon on Wednesday where they will receive an assignment. The anticipated assignment of the task force will be to provide structural fire protection in affected municipalities.
The request was made by the State of Oregon through the Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC). The North Dakota Department of Emergency Services and the North Dakota Forest Service provided coordination to assemble the task force.
