Thune advocates for remote-worker tax relief in COVID-19 package

Pierre, SD) — South Dakota Senator John Thune is advocating for remote worker tax relief in the COVID-19 package Congress is considering. The proposed bill is called the Remote and Mobile Worker Relief Act intended to make filing taxes less complicated for healthcare workers who earn money in several states. Thune’s bill would have those workers taxed only in the state where they live, with credit given in other states where they work.
