Big Drop in weekly COVID case count

(Pierre, SD) — South Dakota health officials say there was a big drop in last week’s new COVID-19 case count. Officials say there were just over 51-hundred new cases reported last week, down nearly 18-percent from the previous week’s total of just over 62-hundred. Cases fell in 55 counties in the state, with the biggest drops in Dewey, Pennington, and Yankton counties. A USA Today Network analysis of Johns Hopkins University data shows that South Dakota ranked 13th among states where COVID-19 is spreading the fastest.
