(Bismarck, ND) — 2020 is proving to be one of the worst years on record for the oil and gas industry in North Dakota. The state’s second leading industry has not been immune to the effects of the pandemic. As the year nears conclusion there is no end in sight to the negative impact of the lockdown restrictions on the state’s energy sector. This week, the Department of Mineral Resources said that the gas and oil industry is “far from a full recovery” heading into 2021. Right now, department leaders say they’re glad to be hovering above a million barrels per day, but it will take a lot of work and even some luck to stay there.
