Burgum Lawsuit Cost Office More Than 12-Thousand Dollars

(Bismarck, ND) — The Bismarck Tribune is reporting that Governor Doug Burgum’s unsuccessful lawsuit seeking to appoint a state representative cost his office over 12-thousand dollars. The governor filed suit to defend what he saw as his right to appoint someone to fill a District Eight House seat won by David Andahl, who died Oct. 5th from COVID-19. Burgum’s spokesman says the expenses will be paid from the operating expenses of the governor’s office budget.
