NDSU President Announces Plan To Improve Racial Climate On Campus

(Fargo, ND) — North Dakota State University President Dean Bresciani is offering an apology for his response to hate speech that has come to light on campus Snapchat and threats he received by email. Bresciani announced a preliminary plan of action and a timeline to help improve and ease the racial climate on campus. Parts of the plan include reviewing and updating th student code of conduct, requiring culture and diversity training for all students starting next fall, and continuing the investigations into social media incidents through the campus Equity Office and through the use of an outside consultant. The president also plans to release a preliminary report next month generated through the work of a task force aimed at making NDSU more diverse and inclusive.
