(Pierre, SD) — South Dakota is not seeing a post-Thanksgiving COVID-19 surge. State health officials said yesterday that active COVID-19 cases are below ten-thousand for the first time since October 23rd. Officials also announced 594 new cases of the virus and one additional death. The seven-day average is 639. The number of those in the hospital is also dropping, with 406 hospitalized and 41 on ventilators. Over eleven-hundred South Dakotans have been vaccinated for COVID-19.
