Man Gets Three Year Sentence In Bar Fight Case

(Williston, ND) — A Williston man will do three years behind bars for his role in a bar fight that left one man dead. Court officials say 28-year-old Justin Crites was hit with the sentence this week for his role in the death of 57-year-old Jay LePage. The court determined that Crites was responsible for LePage’s death after he punched the older man outside The Shop Bar in May 2019. LePage reportedly died of blunt-force trauma after he fell back and hit his head on the pavement. Authorities say Crites will receive six months’ credit on his three-year sentence for time served.
