(Minot, ND) — Vision Zero North Dakota is inching toward its goal. The initiative works toward zero lives lost on the state’s roadways in a given year. There were 96 traffic deaths in 2020 as of yesterday. Law enforcement is hoping to finish out the year at this landmark number below 100, which hasn’t been achieved since 2002. Officials say about 65-percent of crash deaths were connected to not wearing a seat belt in cases where the device may have saved the person’s life.
