(Pierre, SD) — Governor Kristi Noem is defending the state’s response to COVID-19 and outlining her priorities. Noem delivered her third State-of-the-State address yesterday, focusing on the state’s COVID-19 response while unveiling her key initiatives for the legislative term. The governor outlined how South Dakota is leading in COVID-19 vaccination, booming economically, and expanding telehealth services. She also wants to ban abortion of children on the basis of a Down syndrome diagnosis, to create a civic education curriculum, and boost rural broadband. Her speech spoke about issues she says are important to South Dakota families.
