(Pierre, SD) — President Trump is including six South Dakotans in issuing some last minute pardons. Trump pardoned the men and women, including Paul Erickson, who was sentenced to seven years in prison last year for defrauding investors. His girlfriend Maria Butina was deported to Russia in 2019 for failing to register as a foreign agent. Gregory and Deborah Jorgenson were pardoned for selling misbranded beef, with a posthumous pardon given to Martin Jorgenson. A full pardon was granted to Jessica Frease, who spent two years in prison for converting stolen checks, putting them through the bank where she was a teller. A pardon was also given to John Nystrom, who was convicted of not notifying officials of double payments received by a subcontractor.
