(Bismarck, ND) — A petition to put the issue of recreational marijuana use for those 21 years and older for a statewide vote is a ‘go.’ According to the office of North Dakota Secretary of State Al Jaeger, the green light means the measure’s sponsoring committee has from now until January 22, 2022, to secure signatures from at least four percent of state residents in support of the measure. Once that’s achieved, the measure will reportedly appear on the ballot for the next statewide special election.
