Price Argues Against Release Of Noem’s Security Costs

(Pierre, SD) — South Dakota Public Safety Secretary Craig Price is arguing against the release of Governor Kristi Noem’s security costs. Price told the Argus Leader yesterday that releasing the information could provide criminals who wish to harm Noem an advantage. He says knowing the cost could compromise the governor’s security detail, which is provided by state troopers any time she travels. An effort is underway in the legislature to make the amount of money the state spends on the governor’s security available for public review.
