League Of Women Voters Against Gerrymandering

(Sioux Falls, SD) — A South Dakota organization is working to head off gerrymandering in the upcoming redistricting process. Voting districts are redrawn every ten years by the legislature based on the preceding year’s census results. The League of Women Voters wants to create an Independent Citizen Redistricting Commission, taking the power out of the hands of the legislature. Nearly 20 other South Dakota organizations support the League’s efforts.
