Money Proposed For Custer State Park Visitors Center

(Pierre, SD) — A South Dakota Senate bill is proposing the allocation of half-a-million dollars toward the construction of a visitors center in Custer State Park. The park is attempting to raise five-million dollars to build the Bison Visitors Center. Over four-million dollars has been donated toward the effort by the Helmsley Charitable Trust and the park’s own fundraising efforts. The center would provide visitors information about the history of the bison herd in the park.
