Bismarck Schools Nix Confederate Flag

(Bismarck, ND) — Bismarck Public Schools is updating a policy after a student requested that the Confederate flag be banned. Marianna Miller spoke to school board members January 25th saying the flag should be banned because it causes distractions during the school day. Superintendent Jason Hornbacher announced the policy change at the board’s meeting yesterday, which provides tools to teachers and staff to be more proactive dealing with items that are disruptive or make other students uncomfortable.
