COVID-19 Affecting Nursing Shortages

(Minot, ND) — The North Dakota Center for Nursing is pushing a proposal designed to address existing staffing shortages that have been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. According to supporters, Senate Bill 2198 would establish a statewide nurse staffing clearinghouse to help recruit unemployed and underemployed nurses, along with recent nursing-school graduates. The measure, which has already cleared the Senate, is now headed for the state Appropriations Committee.
