(Bismarck, ND) — Representative Luke Simons is now expelled from the state Assembly. Simons was ousted from his seat in the North Dakota House of Representatives in a historic vote after two hours of debate yesterday. His expulsion comes a week after harassment allegations against Simons became public. Options to censure Simons, which called for an investigation and public hearing, were rejected decisively. Simons has threatened lawsuits, which his attorney says may end up in the state Supreme Court. The district party chair will choose a new person to fill Simons’ seat.
