(Wasta, SD) — Four people are hospitalized after a crash on I-90. The crash happened yesterday afternoon near Wasta. The Department of Public Safety says 86-year-old William Vanourkerk was driving west in the eastbound lanes of I-90 and hit a vehicle going east, with both cars rolling. Vanourkerk, the 36-year-old woman driving the other vehicle, and her 15-year-old and 13-year-old female passengers were all taken to the hospital. DPS says the 13-year-old had minor injuries, while the other three had serious non-life-threatening injuries. South Dakota Highway Patrol says all four were wearing seatbelts. Charges are pending against Vanourkerk.
