(Bismarck, ND) — Governor Doug Burgum is recovering after undergoing hip replacement surgery. The 64-year-old had surgery Friday to replace his left hip. His authority was briefly delegated to Lieutenant Governor Brent Sanford Friday morning, Sanford says he didn’t take any actions before Burgum resumed his authority. Burgum says the surgery went well and joked that his career as a college hurdler is over.
