ND Lawmakers Consider Gasoline Tax Hike

(Bismarck, ND) — State lawmakers are considering increasing North Dakota’s gas tax by three cents. The proposal has passed the House, and a Senate committee held a hearing on it Monday. The state’s last gas tax increase was for two cents 16 years ago. The proposed increase would generate almost 44-million dollars. Supporters say it’s needed to leverage grants and to maintain funding for roads.
