(Bismarck, ND) — The North Dakota House is advancing a bill that would shield schools and teachers from lawsuits related to posting the Ten Commandments in classrooms. The House amended Senate bill requiring the Ten Commandments to be part of a display of other historical documents passed overwhelmingly yesterday. Attorneys and school officials have expressed concerns that the result would be costly, unwinnable legal fights. Governor Doug Burgum hasn’t indicated whether he’ll sign the bill.
