Governor Kristi Noem wrote today that in the wake of the recent riots in Minneapolis and other places, she will be relaunching a campaign to recruit law enforcement officers to move to South Dakota.
Noem wrote that “In South Dakota, we respect them. We won’t defund them. Instead, we’ll work with them to make South Dakota safer.”
Noem’s comments were part of a message sent to South Dakota media this morning. The message was critical of President Joe Biden, and handling of immigrants along the nation’s southern border.
Noem said “when President Biden started asking states to take some of these illegal immigrants and house them, I told him “No way” before he asked South Dakota.”
