Little Missouri Grassland Brush Fire Grows, Helicopters Called In

(Undated) — No injuries are reported as crews continue to battle a large brush that broke out Monday north of the Wannagan Campground on the Little Missouri Grassland. Shortly after 3:30 p.m. yesterday, a pair of North Dakota Army National Guard Black Hawk helicopters took off from Bismarck to fight the blaze, which as of yesterday had grown to about two thousand acres. Firefighters say they expect to face Red Flag conditions today at the site, which is about nine miles northwest of Medora in the North Dakota Badlands.
