WX Official Predicts High Fire Danger In Rapid City Area

(Rapid City, SD) — South Dakota State Fire Meteorologist Darren Clabo is predicting a high fire danger this summer in the Rapid City area. Clabo says expected dry and hot conditions make fires more likely. Rapid City has received two or three inches less than average precipitation since the beginning of the year. Clabo cites drought conditions as the biggest factor making this summer a risk for wildfires.
