14 Agencies To Receive Money To Combat Opioid Epidemic

(Bismarck, ND) — More than a dozen healthcare facilities are getting money to combat the opioid epidemic in North Dakota. The state Health and Human Services was given eight-million dollars from the Opioid Settlement Fund to use over the next two years. About 20-percent of the funding must be used to help drug prevention and addiction treatment. Starting next month, the money will be distributed to 14 health agencies who specialize in these programs. It’s possible state lawmakers could set aside more funding for opioid efforts during the next legislative session, which is set to begin in April.
