South Dakota Initiating Mental Health Voucher Program

(Pierre, SD) — South Dakota is initiating a voucher program to assist residents with accessing mental health and substance use care. The state Department of Social Services announced yesterday that it is coordinating the behavioral health voucher program meant to take down cost barriers to treatment. The effort is part of the state’s 605 Strong programs designed to connect residents to resources and information to help meet basic, financial, mental health, and family needs.
