Western South Dakota Experiences Earthquake

(Rapid City, SD) — The U.S. Geological Survey says western South Dakota has experienced an earthquake. The two-point-six magnitude quake hit yesterday morning and was centered just under 60 miles east of Rapid City. This is the fifth earthquake reported in the state since December. South Dakota’s largest earthquake ever recorded happened just south of Huron in 1911.
