Necropsy Planned For Snow Leopard That Died At Great Plains Zoo

(Sioux Falls, SD) — A necropsy is being performed on a snow leopard who died at the Great Plains Zoo. The animal began showing signs of COVID-19 before her condition declined. Zoo officials say they had a team providing care 24 hours a day for the snow leopard. The death follows one of the zoo’s Amur tigers testing positive for the virus that causes COVID-19 on Wednesday.
