Crazy Horse Memorial Site Of Native American Day Celebration

(Custer, SD) — The Crazy Horse Memorial is where one of this year’s Native American Day celebrations took place. The celebration included hoop dancing, prayer, and crafts and buffalo stew donated by Custer State Park was served. South Dakota officially recognized the second Monday in October as Native American Day in 1990. The day of celebration is intended to honor the indigenous people who first settled the state.
