SD House Speaker Sued Over Secret Vote For AG Impeachment Session

(Pierre, SD) — South Dakota Speaker of the House Spencer Gosch is being sued over a secret vote for a special session to consider the impeachment of the state’s Attorney General. Two media organizations filed suit yesterday complaining the Republican violated the open records laws when he refused to reveal the names of lawmakers who signed an official petition to convene a special session considering Jason Ravnsborg’s impeachment next month. The media companies called it “inexcusable.”
