SD State Senator In Hot Water Over COVID Relief Payment To Son

(Pierre, SD) — A South Dakota state senator is in hot water over a COVID relief payment received by his son. Senate Majority Leader Gary Cammack’s son Chris Cammack received over 700-thousand in COVID relief funds to cover losses he suffered during the pandemic. Critics say Chris Cammack’s South Dakota company Prairie Mountain Wildlife Studios is run out of Cypress Texas. Rules for relief money require that companies be “physically located in South Dakota.” His business also received over 300-thousand dollars in forgivable federal Paycheck Protection Program loans.
