SD Schools Reporting Pandemic Increase In Absences, Drop In Performance

(Pierre, SD) — A report on the state of South Dakota schools during the pandemic is showing an increase in absences and a drop in academic performance. The South Dakota Department of Education released its 2020-2021 report card yesterday. The annual report expresses information about how schools and students across the state are doing. Secretary Tiffany Sanderson says the report card shows the importance of in-person instruction after “a year full of disruptions.”
