(Bismarck, ND) — October is now the deadliest COVID-19 month so far this year in North Dakota. Health officials announced yesterday that there have been 77 COVID-19 deaths this month so far, one more than the previous peak in January. Last November marked the deadliest month in the pandemic with a high of 500 people lost to the virus. Officials attribute an increase in deaths since this summer to the onset of the highly contagious Delta variant.
