RCPD Continuing Increased Security Despite School Threat Relating To Different State

(Rapid City, SD) — The Rapid City Police Department is keeping increased security in place at Central High School. A general threat recently made on Snapchat claiming a plan to “shoot up Central High School” was determined by investigators to relate to a school outside the state, but police say student safety is a top priority. Police Lieutenant Jeff McCoy says school resource officers are prepared in case a situation such as a copycat arises.
