SD Panel Moves To Legalize, Regulate, Tax Recreational Marijuana

(Pierre, SD) — A panel of South Dakota lawmakers agrees that the state should legalize, regulate, and tax recreational marijuana. The Marijuana Interim Study Committee completed its study yesterday and is sending a formal recommendation to the full Legislature to end South Dakota’s ban on the use, cultivation, and sale of marijuana. The panel also recommends a 15-percent tax on the sale of cannabis products in the state.
