SD Supreme Court Allows Lawmakers’ Signatures On Special Session Petition Secret

(Pierre, SD) — The South Dakota Supreme Court is allowing lawmakers to keep the names of representatives considering special impeachment sessions private. The Court ruled yesterday in a lawsuit brought by media outlets that Speaker of the House Spencer Gosch didn’t have to disclose the names of legislators who signed a petition calling for a special session. The session will consider the impeachment of Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg and will convene on November 9th.
