ND Lawmakers Compromise On Federal COVID Funds Proposal

(Bismarck, ND) — North Dakota lawmakers are compromising on a proposal for how to spend American Rescue Plan funds. Negotiations between House and Senate Appropriations Committees hit gridlock Wednesday night, but lawmakers were brought together yesterday morning and agreed on a compromise. The negotiated plan spends all but 54-million of the state’s one-point-one billion dollars in federal COVID-19 aid. Legislators were clear that this is the first version of a bill that could change once the full Legislature meets on the issue in just under two weeks.
