State Bridge Dedication Ceremony Planned For Nov. 11

(Pierre, SD) — A State Bridge Dedication Ceremony is planned for Veteran’s Day, November 11th, in honor of U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Gregory Wagner. He’s a South Dakota National Guard member who died in a convoy attack in Iraq in 2006. The state Highway 38 bridge over the James River, east of Mitchell, will be dedicated to him. Governor Kristi Noem and the state Department of Military, Transportation and Veterans Affairs have made it their mission to name bridges after combat veterans who died while serving their country.
