Debate Over Redistricting Maps Heating Up Among ND Lawmakers

(Bismarck, ND) — The debate over redistricting maps is heating up among North Dakota lawmakers. Some lawmakers say they are planning to introduce their own maps or make changes to the currently proposed maps during debate in the special session. Much of the Redistricting Committee agrees on the current proposal, but wider support isn’t in place among other legislators as they fight to keep their seats. Lawmakers in more rural areas say the process is targeting urbanization of the legislature.
