Noem Sued Over Denied Protest Permit

(Sioux Falls, SD) — Governor Kristi Noem is being sued over a denied protest permit. The Institute for Free Speech filed a suit Wednesday against the governor on behalf of protesters from the Blue State Refugees, saying the Noem administration is violating the group’s free speech rights. The Blue State Refugees planned to hold a demonstration next week in an effort to get the South Dakota Legislature to consider a bill to ban businesses from requiring vaccines. Noem’s administration says the permit was denied because the site of the proposed protest is being decorated for Christmas.
