Governor Burgum Urges Lawmakers to Approve 500-Dollar Tax Credit

(Bismarck, ND) — Governor Doug Burgum is once again pressing state lawmakers to approve a 500-dollar tax credit for all residents. The one-time income tax credit would be paid for by the state’s General Fund ending fund balance. The governor made his argument to lawmakers when he opened the special session yesterday. He says following the current regular legislative session, North Dakota had one-point-two billion dollars, its second-largest ending fund balance ever.
