Divisive Issues Take Over Debate During Special Session

(Bismarck, ND) — Several divisive issues are taking over debate during the North Dakota Legislature’s special session. Bills were heard yesterday before the Legislature’s Joint Technical Corrections committee on banning the teaching of critical race theory, discrimination based on vaccination status, and the off-label use of Ivermectin to treat COVID-19. The committee hasn’t taken action on any of the bills. The issues fall outside of the original scope of the special session, which was convened to approve redistricting maps and to decide how COVID-19 relief money will be allocated.
