(Pierre, SD) — Embattled South Dakota Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg is joining forces with a coalition of states challenging a proposed federal vaccine mandate. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services is looking to impose a vaccine mandate on healthcare workers nationwide. Missouri and Nebraska are leading the fight in challenging the mandate. South Dakota officially joined that fight yesterday. The lawsuit calls the mandate “unprecedented” in how wide ranging it is. The suit also claims the mandate will serve to increase the shortage of healthcare workers, especially in rural areas.
