NBA Fines Timberwolves

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Timberwolves will have to pay a 250-thousand dollar fine because of an offseason activity that violated NBA rules. Minority owner Alex Rodriguez had the team over for a dinner and workouts at his home in the Miami area in September. According to the NBA, teams are not allowed to pay for group workout sessions during the offseason if they take place outside of their home market. The team was similarly fined 200-thousand dollars for breaking the same rule in 2005 when they held a mini-camp in Las Vegas.
