North Dakota Tax Commissioner Resigning After Public Intoxication Incident

(Bismarck, ND) — North Dakota Tax Commissioner Ryan Rauschenberger is set to resign after a public intoxication incident. Rauschenberger made the decision after being detained in jail Monday for detoxification after causing a disturbance at a Bismarck hotel. He leaves office January 3rd. Police records show this was the second time in four months that the tax commissioner has been taken to detox for his own safety. Governor Doug Burgum publicly thanked Rauschenberger for his more than 13 years of service and applauded him for having courage in prioritizing his recovery.
